Gravel Bags
Standard Gravel Bags are 1.2m long and 27cm wide and made from HDPE dense weave mesh. Silostop Gravel bags have an end handle and come with a built in cord and fill line to secure the bag once filled.
Standard Gravel Bags are placed on top of Secure Covers Open Net to hold the netting and silage films in place ensuring an airtight seal around the edges of the clamp and against the silage surface. When used with Secure Covers they are an excellent, labour saving and tidier alternative to tyres.
Standard Gravel bags should be filled with 17 kg of smooth (5-10mm) pea shingle and secured with the supplied cord. Standard Gravel bags should then be placed around the perimeter of the clamp or bunker and left to right across the face with a small overlap between bags to seal. Where two sheets or nets meet in the clamp it is advisable to place another row of gravel bags on the join. When removing the bags they can be placed on a pallet and stacked in layers 90 degrees to one and other and stored undercover away
from direct sunlight.
