Drinking Bowls with a Tongue Valve actuated through pressure on the tongue. We recommend drinking bowls with tongue valves mainly for cattle with horns or for easy to care for animals with a nose ring.
These types of water bowls are commonly used for livestock, particularly in farming and ranching operations. They are also found in some pet watering systems, especially for dogs and other animals that are kept outdoors. The tongue valve design allows animals to drink water whenever they need it without the need for human intervention to fill the bowl.
Use of water bowls with tongue valves
Water bowls with tongue valves are designed to provide a self-serve mechanism for animals to access water. These bowls typically have a lever or tongue-like mechanism that the animal can press with its tongue to release water into the bowl. When the animal stops pressing the valve, the water flow stops, helping to prevent wastage and keep the bowl area dry.
Cleaning the drinking bowl regularly is of great importance as dirt particles and feeding leftovers
are likely to adhere to the back of the activation tongue. We have already developed the very first drinking bowls with a tube valve in order to reduce maintenance work to a minimum.
